Why you can't compare the kava amounts directly
Leilo lists the weight of its kava extract blend (1,000 mg). Kava Haven lists kavalactones (150 mg), the compounds kava is known for. An extract weight and a kavalactone figure aren't the same measurement, so neither number tells you which drink is "stronger." If the dose matters to you, look for a kavalactone figure on the label, or ask the brand.
Leilo
Leilo's cans are ready to drink: sparkling, 12 oz, and low in calories. The mocktail flavors are sugar-free. If you'd rather mix your own, the stick packs list the same 1,000 mg blend per serving, at 5 calories each.
Kava Haven
Kava Haven is for people who like to make a drink. You pour 1.5 oz over ice or into a mocktail, and the label prints the kavalactone amount per pour. It's lemon-ginger forward. Read our full Kava Haven review.

Who should skip kava
- Kava drinks are for adults 21+. Skip them if you're under 21.
- Skip kava if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Skip kava if you have a liver condition or drink heavily. Kava has been linked to rare cases of serious liver injury.
- Skip it if you take antidepressants (including SSRIs), sedatives, sleep aids or medications that affect the liver, unless your doctor says it's OK.
- Rules on kava vary by place. Check your local rules before you buy.
- One can or shell is one serving. Don't mix kava with alcohol, and don't drive after drinking it.
These are general cautions, not medical advice. If you're unsure, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
